Portraits.

Faces are arguments. Every frame either lands a sentence — or it doesn't.

The job isn't to make someone look good.
It's to make the camera listen.

Portraits are the discipline I'm hardest on myself for. There's no plate to re-stage, no skyline to come back to. It's a face, three minutes after meeting a stranger, in a room with the wrong light. You either find them or you don't.

Below — five chapters from the last year. Studio editorial in a small room with one window. Street fashion with a model who knew exactly where to stand. Industrial editorial at a vintage rail yard at golden hour. Behind the lens — once in a while we point the camera back at the people who run the cameras. And field work — brand activations where the portrait has to happen anyway, inside the noise.

01 The Studio · Editorial

A room with one window.

A small studio, a deep red velvet sofa, dark teal panels. The lighting was the room — pulled apart with one shaped flag and patience.

Studio portrait — woman in white dress on red velvet

The sitter chose the dress. The dress chose the lighting. The room — borrowed for a Sunday afternoon — already had the panels and the sofa; we moved one chair and closed two blinds. Everything else is restraint.

The fourth frame is the one that ran. The other three are the ones that earned it.

02 Saint Live · Street Fashion

A wardrobe, in public.

The brief was a brand collaboration on a wearable line — but the photographs are about the sitter. The graphic on the back of the tee is just the closer.

03 The Yard · Industrial Editorial

Bold colour, hard light.

Golden hour at a vintage rail yard. The model brought the fur hat and the attitude. The carriages did the rest.

04 Behind the Lens · Creatives

The camera, turned around.

Behind-the-lens portrait — cinematographer with red car & mural
Behind-the-lens portrait — second frame

Once in a while we take the lens off the brief and point it at the operator.

This one's a Nairobi cinematographer, a borrowed cabriolet, and a mural that didn't need our help.

05 In the Field · Brand & Reportage

When the brief is a brand,
not a portrait.

Activations, launches, brand events. People at work, people at play. The portrait still happens — just inside the noise instead of outside it. Two chapters here: Red Bull's hackathon, and Heineken's matchday on a padel court.

Red Bull Basement · 2025.

A hackathon, indoors and out. Speakers, partners, a rooftop bar at golden hour, and the conversations that happen when the room is mostly other founders.

№ 05.B

Nani's · Heineken · 2025.

A matchday activation on a blue padel court. UEFA's evening, Heineken 0.0's branding, ten frames around the players, the watchers, and the side of the court no-one looks at.
